In response to the social changes in Taiwan and the public's demand for welfare services, as well as the government's planning for social work services and social welfare policies, Meiho University established the Department of Social Work in 2005. The standard of social work services in Taiwan. In 2005, the first yearly class of the 4-year Day Department was established. In 2013, the master class was established. There were 7 classes 4-year program in the Day Department, 4 classes 4-year program in the bachelor program of extension education, 4 classes 2-year program in the bachelor program of extension education, and 4 classes 2-year program in the division of continuing education. In 2014, there are 8 classes 4-year program in the Day Department, 4 classes in the 4-year program in the bachelor program of extension education, 4 classes in the 2-year program division of continuing education, 4 classes in the 2-year program in the bachelor program of extension education (including 2 classes in Taitung) and 2 classes in the master's program. In 2016, there are 7 classes 4-year in the Day Department, 4 classes four-year division of continuing education in the bachelor program of extension education, 4 two-year classes in the bachelor program of extension education, 4 classes in the 2-year program in the bachelor program of extension education (including 2 classes in Taitung) and 2 master classes. In 2017, a 4-year program in the Day Department Aboriginal special class was established, and the 2018 master's class was divided into two groups: "Social Work Group" and "Community Consultation Group".
The head of the department is Associate Professor Wu Zheng Shan Mi, who leads the teachers of the Department of Social Work to cultivate social work practical talents and is committed to professional research on social work. In terms of teachers, a number of social work doctors and experts in social work practice have been recruited to join the teaching ranks of the department, and regular teaching seminars are held; in terms of courses, we have established partnerships with government departments, non-governmental organizations, community building centers and other practical institutions, and reformed according to industry needs Courses; In terms of academics, we often hold various domestic and foreign seminars and academic activities, and actively promote exchanges and cooperation between domestic and foreign academics and practices. The aim is to enable the students of this department to learn something and become professionals in the field of social work after graduation.
